The Vice-Chancellor has announced the closure of Professional & Executive Development on 1 June 2010. This outcome is part of a wider review of university services in order to focus resources on the core activity of the university, which is research-informed degree programmes.
A new entity, Organisation Development Institute, has been formed by the management team of Professional & Executive Development to continue to offer Leadership Development Programme, Short Courses, In-Company Courses and Programmes and Training Needs Analysis after 1 June 2010. The University of Canterbury is supporting this initiative.
Participants in these programmes should note that their enrolments will be transferred to the Institute.
Business Class computing courses to be held after 1 June 2010 will be incorporated into the Institute's short courses programme and may be rescheduled. Affected participants will be contacted personally.
Administration of the Graduate Diploma in Management (Industry Stream) and the Bachelor of Business Management have been transferred to the College of Business and Economics.
Leadership Development Programme - develops the leadership competencies of corporate senior and middle managers and of SME owners, directors and managers; enabling sustainable organisations in the 21st century.
Short Courses - offered on an open enrolment basis and do not require any specific prior experience or qualifications. Courses are desgined to provide tools for use in the workplace. Courses are held in:
